Dr. Kristen Waldemayer specializes in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related treatments. Her experience includes working with individuals who have survived sexual assault, rape, motor vehicle accidents, intimate partner violence, childhood trauma, combat trauma, and trauma experienced by emergency response personnel. She has extensive training in providing evidence-based PTSD treatments, namely Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure, to aid recovery in traumatic thoughts, emotions, and memories. She also provides Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Seeking Safety, and mindfulness interventions in the treatment of PTSD.
Kristen also works with clients that are managing depressive symptoms, anxiety/panic, situational stressors, substance use, LGBTQ issues, and grief. She has a specific interest in working with individuals struggling with chronic pain or chronic health conditions. All therapy provided is evidence-based and client-centered. Kristen believes that a warm, supportive relationship between the client and therapist is essential to help change occur. She works collaboratively with her clients to help them discover how to create the most meaning in their lives.
In addition to therapy, she also provides assessment and testing services for RiverStone Wellness Center. All assessments are tailored to the individual and their specific concerns and goals. Types of testing include: Diagnostic clarification, personality functioning, intellectual functioning, and career development / interest. Pre-surgical evaluations as well as fitness for duty / return to work assessments are also available.  
In her free time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, reading, enjoying the outdoors, and cooking. She loves to travel and learn about new people and places. Her personal wellness practices include yoga, meditation, running, and anything involving nature.
