Yoga and Mindfulness Classes 

As  a  holistic  behavioral  health  center,  RiverStone  Wellness Center offers complementary / alternative methods in treatment and educates clients about the importance of understanding  the  mind-body  connection.  As part of our integrative  approach, RiverStone Wellness offer free yoga classes to therapy clients and regular massage clients. Studies have shown that yoga helps:
  • Lower stress hormone levels
  • Improve mood
  • Tone  down hyperarousal of the  nervous  system  following  trauma
  • Promote  physical  wellbeing (improving sleep and reducing pain, fatigue, headaches, etc.)
  • Improve  focus,  balance,  and  coordination
  • Promote mind-body awareness
                           FREE YOGA CLASSES WEEKLY
Each week, RiverStone Wellness Center offers a widely practiced, gentle form  of  yoga  known  as  Hatha  yoga.  Hatha  yoga  focuses  on  breath, movement, mindfulness, and healthy alignment.  RiverStone's weekly beginner yoga class is taught by our very compassionate yoga instructor  and is available at no cost to therapy and regular massage clients.  Our welcoming and relaxing yoga studio is fully equipped so that clients need only come dressed in comfortable clothing.

Space is limited so our clients are encouraged to call the center to reserve their mat each week.  

Our  holistic  approach  to  wellness  includes  offering  a  free  4-week  mindfulness series  to therapy clients every other month. Why do we offer mindfulness education and training?  Research shows that mindfulness practice:   

  • Strengthens the immune system and improves coping
  • Reduces stress, depression, and anxiety
  • Increases feelings of well-being and happiness
  • Increases openness to experience, conscientiousness, and agreeableness
